New draft law on national e-identity cards in Romania

The new proposal does not bring improvements from the law adopted in 2012 and lacks an impact assessment. The proposed law is under public consultation until 29 March 2017 and Romanian digital rights NGO ApTI submitted a written opinion to the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the implications the new provisions might have on the right to privacy.
